The Last Human Alive

I was struggling.
Food ran out, water I barely had…
I was curled up in the corner of the supermarket, thinking about maybe eating my own…body parts…
Then a sudden heaviness, drowsiness washed over me.
When I woke up, a slender figure stood in front of me.
It was a tall, redheaded woman, in a black dress, and high-heels.
She had a scythe shaped necklace, and rings on each of her fingers.
“Am I dead?”
I asked.
“Soon, you will be.
And the last human alive shall be no more.”
She said, sitting down on the ground next to me.
“I really am the last one?”
I whispered.
“Yes, you guys made my job hectic in these last couple years.”
She nodded.
“Then how…
How was everything working?”
I asked, a bit more sharply than intended.
I didn’t want to offend death, but…
But this was one thing that made me hold on for so long…
There was electricity, there were no explosions, it’s just like people simply disappeared…
I hoped…
I hoped there are still some, in those plants, in those facitilities, making everything work…
“It’s been just a few years since you are the last human alive, and before the others died, they made sure everything is in top-notch condition.
Also, the angels took some cautionary measures.
This was a cleansing, but it isn’t supposed to destroy the planet, just…cleanse it.”
She said.
“So, we had to be erased…”
I murmured.
“It was always in the big plan…
Humanity had a limited lifespan unless they stepped onto the bigger stage…”
She comforted.
“Now what?”
I asked.
“I shall take your soul to the great Afterlife.
Based on your soul, I can tell that you can go to Heaven or Hell, or even reincarnate, so basically whatever you want.”
She giggled, as she helped me up.
As I stood up, looking back, I could see my body still curled up…
“Wait, Hell as well?
Isn’t that a place for evildoers? “
I asked.
“It is, but it’s also a high ranked universe/dimension, so there are plenty of benefits of being born there.
It’s of a higher difficulty than most worlds, but you can get strong quickly.”
She said.
“Let’s go…
Please advise me on what should I choose…”
I said.
She giggled, taking my head we went ahead, entering a door of light and darkness…
